Renovation has started!

We started on the Sprite yesterday.

 1st to go was the 'lovely' brown carpet.

Which revealed the orange and red lino!

 Lots of underlay stuck on but the lino seems to be OK.

Specialist tools were brought in.

The added touches are pretty cool.

By the end of the day the floor was up and all sanding and prep was done. Next stage - primer.

Millie has been rented out!

Well, it took a while but Millie has been rented out for the last two weekends and by all accounts the people loved her. August is pretty booked but there are still a few places left. July and September pretty good - book early though!

Guns and Monzas!

So, we are at the stage where we wanted to buy the last few things to equip Millie (cool box, pillowcases, cutlery etc.) so we decide a trip to Ipswich (ooo er!) is in order.

Check Ebay Tues night and see a caravan that we are not too sure about but it is local and decide to take a look.

Text the owner who says turn up anytime and gives us his postcode. Looked it up on Multimap and sussed it was on a USAF base but as the base has loads of civilain housing assumed it was there.

No.

It was on the active side, and as we had no address or name it was no surprise that they woudln't let us in. We'd made an effort to see it but weren't going to argue with soldiers holding machine guns.

Anyway, we go shopping and get a call from teh owner who is very apologetic and we go back JUST TO TAKE A LOOK.

Luckily (or maybe not) there was a cashpoint on site,

We had a bad start - we couldn't find the paint!

However we had a full day of painting and got coat one (in some places coat two) done all over!!! Plus our super step son - in - law (ish) made us this table to have on site!

Looks like we've got a site!

Fingers crossed it looks like we have got a site to put our caravans on for rental in 2011! Excellent news and a great location. Stay tuned and we will tell all when it is confirmed!

We've been a bit quiet over the last few weeks, with the crap weather, then flu and Christmas. Pete has an op on his eyes this week so it will be quiet for a few days and then we start our marketing drive and start getting the vans ready - scary stuff but it looks like Cute Caravans rentals is gonna happen!
