Today was a nice day!
We were going to paint but it was much too windy.... bummer.
Anyway, a friend came over and helped me sort a few things, a bit of wood work, a couple of new bits of wood cut out just fascia stuff for a shelf), a fair amount of tea was drunk and then we headed out shopping.

Well the interior is taking it's millionth coat of white and it is not interesting enough to show anyone.
Of course...... while the painting has been happening Alfie has been being creative.

More painting
We've had another day of painting. Looking like it will need at least 4 coats of white but worth doing properly.
Hopefully all the white will be done tomorrow, then it's time for the colour.....

Day one of painting
Slightly worried that this blog is going to be a tad dull. A bit like......
watching paint dry!
OK, day one of painting is over. Spent the day undercoating everything, plus a second coat on a lot of it too.
Looking good!

Painting time!
All cleaned up, sanded down and ready to paint.
I think tomorrow could be a very emulsional day.

The floor is finished (well, not finished)!
Finally finished off the job that Alfie started last week - removing the nasty carpet. It seemed to have been fixed by about a million staples!
Anyway, we now have a nice solid and clean floor which we can put our vinyl flooring on.
Reassuring to see that the floor is in really good, dry condition and it is also very solid.
The cupboards are sanded so waiting for Alfie to tell me what to do next!

Today is Millie day
We've been really busy over the last few days but I'm going to dedicate the bulk of the day to working on Millie. I'll post some pics while I'm at it.

Friday in Shottisham
Had a great night. Good company and a few beers, some wine and some cava.
Absolutely lashed down but Maude stayed dry and it was really nice and snug (apart from my cold nose).
I think we kind of thought this was the last fling of the year but we reckon we can get out again in a couple of weeks.
The 65 kids left (they were dissapointingly quiet).
A wasp nests point of view.

Caravanning in the wind and rain!
Probably our last chance to get out in Maude so we headed out to our secret campsite for the night.
It's bloody pouring down and well windy. We were the only ones here when we popped out to the shops. When we got back in the pitch black we found little Maude surrounded by 65 Duke of Edinburgh Award kids! Rather them than us.
Off to see Jim in the Sorrel Horse for a good few beers! Stay tuned!

Behind the scenes
You don't want us to tell you how good we are. Let's hear from the staff.
1st Bess from accounts ( a daunting job indeed!)
Bess is lovely but a bit of a dog.
OK, we are a bit pissed.
We tried to get an interview with Wilfred but there were some IT issues and he was rather tied up.

The rest of the team.
Of course we can't run this business on our own and we have decided to take the team away for a final nights caravanning tomorrow.
We haven't packed yet, but Wilfred (IT supervisor) has and it doesn't look like he is going to let Bess from accounts share.

Curtain fabric for Millie!
Alfie has been stripping the carpet out of Millie and has picked up the fabrics for the curtains!
I got a bit tied up with real work but have done a bit of repair work.
Next week is knuckle down week for me.
And we still have Elise the Eldiss to do up for a holiday rental!!

Tidying up.
Well we've both got a morning of 'real work'. Hopefully followed by an afternoon of blitzing the new arrivals!

Caravan number 03
What a day.
I went to pick up an old Eldiss van. On the way a loony teenage girl nearly drove head on in to me which was a bit of a shock.
Picked the van up when I eventually found the house in the middle of nowhere. I'm not used to towing at all and the van was heavy. Joy of joys, a two and a half hour journey home involving Norwich city centre and some seriously tiny roads.
Just to round it off I may have burned my clutch out whilst trying to park it up.
Ho hum.
Pictures later, wine first.

Meet Maude
Maude is caravan number 01.
Probably the same age as us (a child of the sixties) but still pretty foxy and full of fun and frolics ( a bit like us).
We picked her up looking a bit sad.......
But we turned her in to something really rather happy!!
Inside she really comes to life
Mr Old (our traveling companion) loves her.
She is big and brave and even dark skies do not scare her

Hello and welcome to Cute Caravans
The story so far.....
We bought a lovely little caravan and 'did it up' in our own quirky way.
Everyone liked it so we bought another...... and we have just bought another!
WE'VE GOT NOWHERE TO PUT IT! And not really able to pay for it!!!
Stay tuned!
Pete and Alfie x
